Opening hours

The National Library has now opened its reference desk, quiet reading room, cafe and exhibitions.

When visiting us, kindly register either digitally or manually at the reception desk. Please practice social distancing and wear a mask if you cannot keep two meters distance to other visitors, We would also ask you to keep your visit short. For the time being all our events will be digital and we shall not be offering guided tours.

The Library and exhibitions

Reference desk

  • Monday–Friday: 10am–4pm. Saturday closed
    Telephone hours: Monday–Friday: 10am–3pm.
  • Get in touch via Ask the National Library.
    Email and access to the Web Library will be processed Monday to Friday from 9am–6pm. Saturday: closed.Telephone service Monday–Friday 9am–3pm.
  • Reading room

    • Monday–Friday: 10am–6pm. Saturday closed.
      The National Library’s materials are only available between 10am–4pm, and must be returned before 4pm.

Kafé Å

  • Opening hours: 10am–5pm
    From the 7th of June the kafé will be open from 10–5pm.It will also be possible to enjoy food and beverages from the café in our outdoor café area, when the weather is good from the 7th of June.

Film and Music library

Special Reading Room

  • Monday–Friday: 10am–3.30pm. Saturday closed.

The National Library is closed during national holidays.
