Broadcasting
The obligation to deposit applies to all broadcasters and service providers responsible for audio and visual programs that have been broadcast or made available in an audiovisual on-demand service. The National Library receives everything broadcasted by NRK, both radio and television, nationwide broadcasts, and local broadcasts. In addition, the National Library receives ongoing submissions from nationwide channels such as TV2, TVNorge, P4, and Radio Norge.
The submission must be carried out digitally no later than seven working days after the content was first published.
As a general rule, the submission should take place online. For more specific details regarding format and technical quality, please see below.

The files should be in the format H.264 – MPEG-4 AVC (avc1) with a bitrate of at least 1750 kbps, a resolution of at least 640×360, and AAC audio with a bitrate of at least 100 kbps. Filename: channelname_yyyy_mm_dd_hh.mm.mp4

The National Library asks that the files are placed on an FTP server and that information regarding where the files can be retrieved is sent to us. Provide details such as the address, username, and password, as well as the file path. Unless otherwise agreed, the files will be deleted on your end after the National Library has retrieved them.
Metadata
In order to facilitate the organization and retrieval of broadcasts, we request that program information is provided in text format. This means plain text in an email, not attachments such as .doc, .xls, or .jpg. It is sufficient to include the time, title, subject, as well as any other relevant details.
