“Exhibition Corpus” – Text, Sound, Sign

During the National Year of Languages 2013, The National Library of Norway organized an exhibition about languages – “Leve Språket”. The exhibition aimed at showing the linguistic diversity in Norway, and it covered topics such as language conflict, the understanding of neighbouring languages and linguistic humor. The target audience was teenagers in school, and the texts are formulated accordingly. The texts were translated into Norwegian Sign Language and either Norwegian Bokmål or Nynorsk. The texts were also recorded in order to serve as audio guide in the exhibition room. The corpus consists of 23 different texts, available in all formats.

The texts were translated into Norwegian Sign Language by Knut Bjarne Kjøde, and the recordings were produced by Rycon AS. The sound material is produced by Sondre Larssen Produksjon.
