All material published in Norway must be legally deposited with the National Library of Norway.

Legal depositing ensures that those parts of the Norwegian cultural heritage that are manifested as published material are preserved for posterity. It is also an important source for documentation and research for the present day.
Documents prepared abroad shall only be deposited if they have been issued for Norwegian publishers or for a specifically adapted public in Norway
