The new version has 556,281 data lines, one for each name in the lexicon. See the documentation file (onomastica_2.pdf) for further information, and the original documentation (onomastica.pdf) for more detailed information about the different data fields.<\/p>\n<p>ONOMASTICA is originally a database containing data from the Norwegian part of the ONOMASTICA project, a European research project aiming at producing pronunciation lexica of proper names for a range of European languages. The pronunciation data include first names, family names, company names, street names, place names and foreign names. The original database contained a total of 556,499 transcribed names. The data was automatically transcribed, but parts of the material was checked manually by trained phoneticians. The material is transcribed using SAMPA.<\/p>\n<p>The database is published with permission from Telenor, and may be used freely and distributed without compensation. Telenor must be credited when the database is used or distributed.<\/description><description xml:lang=\"nn\">ONOMASTICA versjon 2 er ein oppdatert versjon av ONOMASTICA. Databasen inneheld fonetiske transkripsjonar av fornamn, etternamn, namn p\u00e5 selskap, gatenamn, stadnamn og utanlandske namn. Totalt inneheldt den opprinnelege databasen 556.499 namn. Namna er automatisk transkriberte, men delar av materialet er manuelt sjekka av fonetikarar.
