The translations have been carried out on behalf of various public agencies and institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The corpus is composed of texts of English or Norwegian Bokm\u00e5l origin, with parallelized translations into the opposite language. There are some very few examples of translation into Norwegian Nynorsk, but for simplicity, these have been classified as Norwegian Bokm\u00e5l.<\/p>\n<p>All translations from English to Norwegian Bokm\u00e5l are collected in one separate file, and vice versa. The files are in TMX 1.4 format (a variant of XML). Each translation unit (TU) is marked with the institution for which the translation has been carried out. A TU corresponds (more or less) to a meaningful linguistic unit, typically a sentence, a heading etc. A TU may also consist of a single word or several clauses.<\/p>\n<p>The corpus contains a total of 1,325,013 TUs, distributed as follows:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; English &gt; Norwegian Bokm\u00e5l: 250,053 TUs<br \/>\n&#8211; Norwegian Bokm\u00e5l &gt; English: 1,074,960 TUs<\/p>\n<p>The documentation file contains an overview of the agencies and institutions, and the number of TUs belonging to each institution.<\/description><description xml:lang=\"nn\">Dette korpuset inneheld ei rekkje omsetjingsminne Nasjonalbiblioteket har overteke fr\u00e5 Semantix AS. Omsetjingane er utf\u00f8rte p\u00e5 vegner av offentlege kontor og institusjonar.<\/p>\n<p>Korpuset er samansett av tekster med engelsk eller norsk (bokm\u00e5l) originaltekst, og omsetjingar til h\u00f8vesvis norsk (bokm\u00e5l) eller engelsk. Det finst nokre veldig f\u00e5 omsetjingar til nynorsk i materialet, men desse har vorte klassifiserte som bokm\u00e5l.<\/p>\n<p>Det finst ei fil med omsetjingar fr\u00e5 engelsk til bokm\u00e5l, og ei fil med omsetjingar fr\u00e5 bokm\u00e5l til engelsk. Filene er i TMX 1.4-format (ein variant av XML). I filene er kvar omsetjingseining (TU &#8211; Translation Unit) merkt med institusjonen omsetjinga er gjort for. Ei omsetjingseining svarar i dei fleste h\u00f8ve til ei meiningsberande eining, typisk ei setning, ei overskrift eller liknande.
