Norsk ordvev - nynorsk
The core structure of this wordnet for Norwegian Nynorsk is based on the Danish wordnet DanNet (https://cst.ku.dk/english/projekter/dannet/), which in its turn is based on the dictionary Den Danske Ordbok. DanNet was translated into Norwegian and the relations between the synsets were adjusted and manually corrected afterwards. Kaldera Language Technology AS conducted this work on behalf of the National Library.
The final version (version 1.1.0) contains about 305.000 synset, 250.000 of which are named entities. A similar wordnet has been made for Norwegian Bokmål.
Simplistically spoken, a wordnet can be conceived of as a dictionary of concepts where the concepts ("words") are ordered with respect to their semantic relation to each other - a "rose" is a kind of "flower" - instead of alphabetically. The wordnet is machine readable, and its inteded use is primarily for language technology services.
Den grunnleggjande strukturen i ordnettet Norsk ordvev - nynorsk tek utgangspunkt i det danske ordnettet DanNet (https://cst.ku.dk/projekter/dannet/), som i sin tur er basert på ordboka Den Danske Ordbog. DanNet vart omsett til norsk, og relasjonane mellom synseta vart justerte og manuelt korrigerte i etterkant. Kaldera Språkteknologi AS gjennomførte dette arbeidet på vegner av Nasjonalbiblioteket.
Den siste versjonen (versjon 1.1.0) inneheld omlag 305.000 synset. 250.000 av desse er namn. Eit tilsvarande ordnett er laga for bokmål.
Veldig enkelt sagt kan ein sjå på eit ordnett som ei ordbok der konsepta ("orda") er ordna etter tydingsrelasjonane deira til kvarandre heller enn alfabetisk - ei "rose" er ein type "blome". Ordnettet er maskinlesbart, og er primært tenkt nytta i språkteknologiske tenester.
