Digital corpus and dictionary of Norwegian Medieval Latin texts is part of the Norwegian Research Council’s commitment to infrastructure and is a collaborative effort including The National Library, the publishing house Kunnskapsforlaget (Oslo) and Det Norske Videnskaps-Akademi (The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters) as partners. It is funded by the Norwegian Research Council.
The aim of the project is to make a digital dictionary of medieval Latin in Norway, including also papal letters concerning Norway and diplomatic correspondence with foreign states. The main bulk is documentary and legal material. A digital corpus of the relevant texts that will form the base for a concordance is under establishment. Together the corpus and the dictionary will provide a tool for editors of critical editions of Medieval Latin texts, as well as for philologists, linguists and historians.
