Use of Hamsun 2009 logo
The Public Relations Company Gazette was commissioned by Hamsun 2009 to create a logo for Hamsun 2009. The logo is the emblem for this website and for the 150th anniversary of Knut Hamsun’s birth. It is to designed to function as a unifying symbol for the various commemorative events celebrating the 150th anniversary of Knut Hamsun’s birth in 1859 and contributing to the achievement of the aims established for the work of Hamsun 2009.
The aim of the commemorations is to contribute to ensuring that the literary heritage of Knut Hamsun is afforded a high profile, used actively and is effectively managed,. This includes:
The following guidelines apply to the use of the logo:
Organisers of commemorative events which share the aims of Hamsun 2009 may utilise the logo in their communication with the general public, i.e. in advertisements, on posters and programmes etc. The logo is not to be used when planning activities e.g. in applications for funding, when entering contracts or agreements on collaboration etc.
When the logo is used in communication with the public, it is to be made clear which institution or organisation is behind the activity and that it has full academic and/or artistic responsibility. The Hamsun logo is only to be used to show that the organisers view the activity as a part of the national celebration of the Hamsun anniversary in 2009.
The logo can be used in the versions approved by the owners of the logo (see below).
Hamsun 2009 would appreciate being informed by email (hamsun@nb.no) about the contexts in which the logo is being used. Hamsun 2009 reserves the right to use any information submitted on its website, as well as in its own documentation and reporting.
