Portrait of Theodore C. Blegen. Inspired by the Slooper anniversary in 1925, a group of people convened at St. Olaf College, and on October 6, 1925, they organized the Norwegian-American Historical Association. As managing editor, Theodore C. Blegen became a dominant force in the new learned society.
