Portrait of Norwegian-American writer Ole Amundsen Buslett. With his writing he wanted to awaken the immigrants' appreciation for cultural values and free them from their inferiority complex, their "husmannsånd"(cotter spirit), in their attitude toward their own national heritage. Like many of his fellow writers, Buslett penned tales in the Bjørnson style.
