Lithograph by Carl Lewenhapt engraved by I. W.Tegner & Kittendorff's Lith. Inst. Produced from a photograph. Lewenhaupt was the Swedish-Norwegian chargé d'affairs in Washington, who in 1870 wrote a report about living conditions for Swedish and Norwegian immigrants. The report "is remarkable for the richness of its factual content."
