Description:

Lars Larson Geilane, (1786-1845). Larson was a Quaker and leader of the "sloopers" who emigrated to America in 1825. He settled in Rochester, New York with his wife, Martha Georgina Peerson, in 1826. He died under mysterious circumstances in 1845. This daguerreotype shows him in his coffin.
